Paper Dress

2012 Paper dress Rachel Curle 

I chose the paper dress to link it with the Kente cloth because of the prints and patterns and they way the patterns are repeated like the Kente cloth. With the Kente cloth having its dazzling, multicoloured patterns and geometric shapes and cold designs my work has just black and white prints with the idea of geometric shapes. When I was making the dress I kept repeating the pattern and repeating the movement of the curling of the paper. Repeating the pattern gives the dress more depth and more to look at rather it just be one simple pattern.
